Research – Cybersecurity

We are crazy (about security)

Computers power almost all aspects of daily life, from your smartphone to nuclear power plants, often known as the “Internet of Things”.
Cybersecurity focuses on securing computers and networks against unauthorized use and data theft. Our research group uses various elements of computer science and information technology to develop new ways to secure the internet. Our goal is to find innovative ways to understand threats to cyber security and protect the internet and its users. Our research group members are able to focus their research on a variety of topics, including malware analysis (such as ransomware), web security, and secure software design. By using software tools such as Wireshark, gdb, and Metasploit, we are able to analyze and inspect software, network traffic, and remote systems for vulnerabilities or evidence of attacks. Some of our senior members have written research papers, given presentations on their research at conferences.
